Nolan Weber

Fall 2013 Honoree

Nolan Weber was diagnosed with a malignant glioblastoma – a brain tumor – after suffering a seizure at school in April 2011. His treatment included surgery to remove the tumor as well as chemotherapy, radiation and physical therapy to improve the partial paralysis on his left side that resulted from the tumor and surgery.

Nolan’s drive and persistence allowed him earn a spot on his high school soccer team that year but in September of 2011, he discovered that his tumor had returned and was inoperable. Unable to play contact sports, Nolan discovered competitive table tennis and became a member of the 2013 US National Table Tennis Junior Para Olympic Team.

He traveled to London to see Chelsea FC play Fulham on September 21, 2013. In addition to an amazing VIP game day experience courtesy of Chelsea FC, Nolan was also surprised with an exclusive meet-and-greet with Frank Lampard prior to the game at the team hotel.

Nolan Weber passed away on December 27, 2013 after a more than two year battle with brain cancer. Meeting Nolan was life changing. He took every day as the opportunity to live fully. We are honored to have helped fulfill his dream of seeing his beloved Chelsea FC at Stamford Bridge. Our hearts break over this loss for his family and loved ones.
